The Challenge:

During the large-scale crisis of the 13-day, 2018 Woolsey fire, secure work zones were needed to ensure the safety of residents, first responders and utility repair crews.

Insight:

With 25 years of experience, TMI’s ability to handle large-scale emergency situations is related to the company’s size, training and planning. In this case, traffic work was vitally important because of evacuations, first, and then because residents returned far earlier than warranted to check on their property.

Solution:

TMI dispatched 160 team members to work around the clock, setting up maintaining road closures, removing debris, performing safety checks and partnering with utility agencies to restore power. A shared, yet secure, cloud-based communication and project management system called TMSoft enabled TMI to work with authorities and its own deployed employees – despite the complexities of wildfire environments surrounding them all.
